Patricia Arinto
Patricia Arinto is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) where she teaches courses on foundations of distance education, learning theories and instructional design, and online teaching and learning. She is also Program Chair of UPOU’s Master of Distance Education program. Patricia has extensive experience in the design of teacher professional development programs in ICT integration across the curriculum. She has developed training materials and conducted workshops on computer-supported teaching, designing Web-enhanced learning activities, and telecollaborative learning for teachers at the secondary and higher education levels and teachers in the alternative learning system under the auspices of the Foundation for Information Technology Education and Development; the World Links Program in the Philippines, Cambodia, and Lao PDR; and the e-Skwela Project of the Philippine Commission on Information and Communications Technology. Patricia has edited various publications in ICT for development, and is Series Editor of the Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders module series published by the United Nations Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development. From 2000 to 2004, Patricia headed the academic unit responsible for instructional materials development for UPOU’s course offerings in more than a dozen academic programs. |
