Krishnamurthy Sriramesh
Dr. Krishnamurthy Sriramesh is Professor of Public Relations at the School of Business of Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand. After receiving his Ph.D. at the University of Maryland at College Park, U.S.A. he taught at Purdue University, the University of Florida, and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, before moving to his current position. He has been very active internationally having taught either full time or as visiting professor at universities in four continents. He currently serves as Recognized Supervisor in the Ph. D. and Doctor of Business Administration programs at Henley School of Business (University of Reading) in the U.K. and as visiting professor at the University of Lugano in Switzerland. Previously, he served as Visiting Professor at the Annenberg School of Communication of the University of Southern California (Los Angeles), School of Management of Waikato University (New Zealand), and School of Communication of Charles Sturt University (Australia). He has won several teaching and research awards such as the Charles W. Redding Excellence in Teaching Award (Purdue University), Teacher of the Year Award (University of Florida), and the Faculty Research Award and the Golden Gator Award For Research (University of Florida). In November 2004, he received the prestigious Pathfinder Award from the Institute for Public Relations (USA) for “original scholarly research contributing to the public relations body of knowledge.” He has co-edited The Handbook of Global Public Relations: Theory, Research, and Practice, which won the PRIDE award presented by the National Communication Association in the United States. A revised and expanded edition of this book was published in January 2009. He also has co-edited Public Relations Research: European and International Perspectives and edited Public Relations in Asia: An anthology. He has presented over 80 research papers, seminars, and talks in over 25 countries. He serves as the Associate Editor of the Journal of Communication Management. He is a member of the editorial board of several journals such as the Journal of Communication, Journal of Public Relations Research, Public Relations Review, Management Communication Quarterly, and the Digital Review of Asia-Pacific. In addition to authoring over 25 book chapters, he has published over 30 research articles in journals such as Public Relations Review, Journal of Public Relations Research, New media & Society, Journal of Communication Management, Asian Journal of Communication, Media Asia, and Journal of Communication Studies. He is a member of the Commission on Global Public Relations Research of the Institute for Public Relations, U.S.A. |
